Year 5 Planetarium trip
On the last day of the half term the Year 5 children visited Southend Planetarium, museum and The Beecroft Art Gallery. It was a morning of bringing together the things they had been learning about in class. They enjoyed having stories about the stars told to them in the darkness of the planetarium, with the stars above. The opportunity to look at artists work in the gallery built on the colour and collage work they had been doing; as an added extra they even learnt how to tie a bow tie in the Black Tie exhibition. The museum was made even more interesting with the addition of their new science lab where the childrene were able to become scientists for a short while; something they are now excited about doing in school this term.
