Happy Birthday to our Queen
On Friday 10th June children and staff celebrated the Queen’s official 90th birthday by joining together on the playground for rousing renditions of God Save the Queen and Happy Birthday. Mr McClay addressed the whole school, talking about the importance of the occasion. The school’s flagpole was in action with Miss Henley raising the Union Jack aloft during the national anthem.
After the beautiful singing and vigorous flag waving, everyone sat down in the sunshine to enjoy cakes and juice. The cakes had been decorated by the children that morning and looking fantastic. It was a super way to mark a highly significant moment in the life of this country’s longest serving monarch. Happy birthday Queen Elizabeth II!
