Year 4 Portals into the Past

The year 4 children were very lucky recently to have an exciting visitor come to their school. A man from a company called Portals into the Past came in for a super Roman Day. The children took part in a number of activities which helped support and develop their knowledge on Ancient Rome and Roman Britain. In the morning the children learnt all about the Roman way of life and how to be a good Roman citizen. Following this, the children then took part in a selection of Roman mathematics games and fact finding. Before lunch the children acted out Roman fighting styles and fighting formations. After lunch we learnt all about Boudicca and her effect on the Roman invasion of Britain. The children really enjoyed their day.
