Gemma's Farm Visit

The children in Nursery and Reception had a visit from Gemma’s Farm. The mobile farm set up in our Early Years’ garden and the children were fascinated with the wide variety of animals! They could hold the lambs, ferrets and rabbits and petted the pony, sheep and hens. Once each group took turns to visit the animals, the children were able to come and go as they pleased which led to lots of discussion about caring for different animals. Reception and Nursery had the opportunity to feed the lamb some milk which then helped some of our children identify the differences and similarities between human babies and lambs! Nursery took great interest in hens laying eggs - some of them were very surprised that eggs did not just come from shops!
