Red Nose Day

On Friday 24th Porters celebrated Red Nose Day in style. In the weeks leading up to the event, the children bought over 200 red noses from the school office and these were worn very fashionably across the day itself. The children in years 2 to year 6 also came together in the afternoon for a special assembly. Mr Queenborough had kindly agreed to allow us to throw water over him in from of all of the children and staff. What he didn't know was that it wouldn't be water... it would be baked beans... Yuk! Although it was a big surprise for Mr Queenborough he was able to laugh off the switch. Everyone found it hilarious and it certainly provided much 'Comic Relief'. The photographer from the Echo newspaper said it was the best Red Nose Day event he had attended all day! Between selling the red noses and the donations for Mr Queenborough's 'Beanathon' we again raised lots of money for a very good cause. Thank you to everyone for their support.
