Equality and Diversity award
Porters Grange students represented our school to receive awards in recognition of our hard work on the equality and diversity project over the past year. Three year six students presented an aspect of our project to a large group of people, including other schools, members of Southend education department and our local mayor.
They presented work on the child friendly anti bullying policy and discussed how they had effectively delivered training to other pupils across the school. They also talked about our art work based on the books ‘It’s ok to be different’. Our pupils were excellent speakers and even did a mini role play too – we were so proud of them all.
Alongside the equality and diversity trophy we also received an award for enhanced healthy school status. We look forward to continuing our work building on this project in the future.
