Dogs trust Visit

As part of our PSHE ‘keeping safe’ curriculum, we were lucky enough to have The Dogs Trust come to visit us and hold workshops with pupils throughout the school.

For our younger pupils we had a workshop called ‘happy dog rules’. This included how to look after dogs, recognising when dogs are happy or unhappy and how to keep ourselves safe around animals. Children learned rules and actions and enjoyed interacting with the cuddly toys and props.

For key stage 2 pupils, we had workshops about dog safety. Children learned about dogs senses and how they are similar and different to humans. They also performed role plays about how to keep safe around dogs including pets in our homes and unfamiliar dogs when out and about.
