Summer Reading Challenge

Did you know there are six libraries in the City of Southend? Lots of children signed up to the 2023 Summer Library Reading Challenge. They made a commitment of reading at least six books over the summer holidays. This means these children have continued to make progress with their reading as well as enjoy exciting new reads. Each child that completed the activity received a medal and certificate and were put into a special Porters raffle for a chance to win a big book prize. This year’s winner was Violet – May. You can sign up to any of the six libraries for free and enjoy books throughout the year. We hope more children sign up to the challenge next year.
